Product Description: AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid includes apple water containing natural AHA and Glycolic Acid. It exfoliates to deep clean the skin, reduces excess dead skin problems and trouble issues such as whiteheads and clogged pores.
Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid clears away old dead skin cells that are trapped in the pores. It works alongside vitamins, whiteners, and natural moisturiser treatments, plus it helps maintain your skin’s vitality.
Ingredients Highlights: Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid focuses on alpha hydroxy acid, one of the most popular chemical exfoliators in the market. It is an amazing ingredient that you can introduce to your skin. Not only it helps with clogged pores and tiny bumps on your face, it also helps in fading away dark spots and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) that are caused by overproduction of melanin. This product also contains glycolic acid (a type of AHA) which helps to increase cell turnover and exfoliate your skin. Glycolic acid has the smallest molecule, making it the strongest AHA out there because it penetrates better into your skin. If you are a skin care beginner, I’d recommend starting from the gentlest AHAs, such as mandelic and lactic acid. Niacinamide is another great ingredient that is good at oil controlling & brightens the skin. Sodium hyaluronate (another form of hyaluronic acid) is a great skin replenishing ingredient, while panthenol is a great humectant.

My First Impression:
Like most Cosrx products, the AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid has a pump and comes in a sleek and transparent plastic bottle. It stung my skin badly the first time I used it (heads up to skin care newbies). Depending on your skin type, it may sting a little. If it starts to hurt or burn your skin badly, rinse it off as soon as possible. This could happen because your skin barrier is not at its best condition, so make sure to moisturise and hydrate properly.
The AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid has a watery texture. It does leave a slight sticky residue, but I’m not too concerned about it since I will be applying other skincare products on top of it. It has a strong scent – some people may be bothered by it but I’m not.
How I Used It:
I use the AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid at least once or twice a week. I alternate between other chemical exfoliators like beta hydroxy acid (BHA), retinoid/retinol, and Vitamin C because I do not like using them all together in the same routine. It’s just my preference though. Four pumps are more than enough for me. Cosrx recommends users to apply the product with cotton pads, but I prefer using my fingers. Remember to wash your hands immediately afterwards, otherwise it may cause your fingers to be flaky and dry. I’ve tried using it with cotton pads as well and to be honest, there’s no stark difference between these two methods. I use this after washing my face and using a balancing toner. Sometimes I’d skip toner and apply this after cleansing. I’d usually wait for 30 minutes before continuing with the rest of the routine. Some people don’t bother with the waiting time, but I do because I find the acid to be more effective that way. It still stings from time to time, so avoid applying it on open wounds (e.g. breakouts). Because it’s a pretty strong formula, don’t overuse it – or else you’ll compromise your skin barrier. Using this once or twice a week is more than enough. Also, make sure you apply sunscreen the next morning, though I’d highly recommend using sunscreen every day.
Yes, it does help with whiteheads and closed comedones! They are so annoying especially when you have makeup on. Those tiny bumps are obvious under makeup but thanks to this product, I no longer have to worry about them. Besides that, I also found that this helps to smooth out the texture on my cheeks area. I used to hate using highlighter because the textured skin and bumps will make them look obvious but not anymore! My nose looks so much smoother now. Plus, this also helps with clogged pores. Every time I use this, my pores look visibly smaller the next day. And I love how it makes my skin glow too. Now you understand why I love this product so much. Of course this is something that I have to use consistently to achieve the results, but I am not complaining. Since I don’t use this every day, it will probably last the whole year. I couldn’t even use up my first bottle before it expired.
As I mentioned earlier in the article, glycolic acid is the strongest AHA so I highly recommend taking it slow when using this. It is extremely important to have a basic skincare routine before you start using this. Sunscreen is a must as AHA increases sun sensitivity. And again, do not forget to moisturise and hydrate your skin properly.
