Matte lip products have triumphed in the makeup world over the years, thanks to beauty brands like Maybelline, ColourPop, and NYX Professional Makeup, plus celebrity brands such as Fenty Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics. Hence, it’s only normal for Asian beauty brands to catch onto the matte lip craze. The lip formulas between Western and Asian brands may be different, but we still love them all the same (am I right, sisters?). Today, I’ll be reviewing the Canmake Crayon Matte Lip. Let’s jump right into it!

The Canmake Crayon Matte Lip comes in a standard lipstick packaging but slimmer. Also, the black-and-gold combo is kinda cute.
I twisted the lip crayon all the way up to check how much product it has, and it doesn’t disappoint. The crayon is pretty fragile though, so do be careful when you twist it. One thing that’s great about slim crayon-type tip: It helps in drawing accurate, crisp lip lines.
Canmake Crayon Matte Lip is available in three shades, but I’ll be swatching #02 Antique Brown only. This shade is more towards dusty red with brown undertone. I’m really into this kind of colour lately because it’s great for everyday makeup, plus it doesn’t look too intense on the lips. On top of that, it’s pigmented enough, which I liked.
Texture wise, it is definitely less matte and more towards moisturising. I have expected the texture as such, because Japanese lip products tend to have a glossy finish rather than matte. So I felt that Canmake Crayon Matte Lip isn’t truly matte. A plus point for this product is its moisturising agents. If you have dry lips, this lip crayon won’t accentuate the dryness. It glides on the lips smoothly with creamy finish and no shimmer in sight – maybe just a slight glossy look.

The colour is transferable, so you’ll definitely need to reapply. Eating and drinking will make it fade slightly quicker. Average lasting power is about 3 to 4 hours.

I do like the Canmake Crayon Matte Lip and I really appreciate that its moisturising formula prevents my lips from drying out. The pigmentation is amazing, the texture is nice, and the formula is very comfortable on the lips. It is definitely worth checking out.
