[REVIEW] ROSKEN Skin Repair Sensitive Skin Cream

What do you do when your skin’s freaking out but you’re too broke to afford expensive skincare? You go back to basics with affordable dermatological options, of course! Formed by two Australian Pharmacists, Ross and Kenneth, ROSKEN is a brand created with the aim of producing products focusing on protecting and repairing the skin while making it affordable enough for anyone to buy. So, while it checks the budget-friendly box, does it actually work?

Enriched with Soybean Oil, Olive Oil and Jojoba Oil, all rich in natural antioxidants, ROSKEN Sensitive Skin Cream improves skin hydration and provides a protective barrier to prevent further moisture loss.

✔ Dermatologically tested
✔ pH balanced – suitable for use on body and face

ROSKEN Sensitive Skin Cream is a soothing non-greasy formula that absorbs easily into the skin. It uses a combination of rich moisturising ingredients to assist in the prevention and repair of dry and sensitive skin, keeping skin feeling moisturised, soft and smooth.

Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 20, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isopropyl Myristate, Glyceryl Stearate, Sorbitan Stearate, Simmndsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Cyclohexasiloxane, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxymethyglycinate, Sodium Hydroxide.

75ml. The cream is packaged in a lightweight opaque plastic tube with a blue flip-top cap.

24 months.

Massage into the skin morning and night after showering or whenever skin feels dry.

Does not contain any artificial fragrance nor essential oils, so it is unscented, though there is a slight chemical scent. Nothing offensive, though.

The cream has a light texture and spreads onto the skin easily, with minimal tackiness once absorbed fully. If applied heavily, it forms an occlusive layer on the skin for maximum moisturising benefits.

Sensitive (prone to redness and irritation), combination-dry, acne-prone and dehydrated.

To be completely honest, if it weren’t for an impromptu sleepover at my best friend’s place a few years back where I didn’t bring along my usual skincare arsenal, I would’ve never been aware of this product’s existence! But thank god I’ve seen the light because this is definitely a must-try product, especially when you’re short on funds and suffer from skin sensitivity.

Long story short, this cream works amazingly well as a moisturiser for my combination-dry skin type. Although it looks quite thick when first squeezed out of the tube,  the finish is just nice and it even has a slight cooling sensation once spread onto the skin. And while it works well for both day and night use, I personally enjoy using it at night as my final skincare step to seal in all my previous skincare layers to ensure that I wake up with soft, plump skin.

In conclusion, the ROSKEN Sensitive Skin Cream earns a well-deserved 5/5 rating from me. It might not be an instant miracle worker (doesn’t necessarily soothe itchiness or allergy issues, if you’re looking for that due to its name alone), but in the long run, I do find that my skin’s natural moisture barrier improves with its presence in my routine.

So, if you suffer from sensitive skin or are maybe going through a sensitised skin state, why not give this cream a try? After all, if things go south, at least you wouldn’t burn a huge hole in your pocket!
