Nacific has launched a unique water-oil based serum famously known as”Jun Ji-Hyun serum” after it was revealed to be her go-to skincare product. Ever since then, this serum have been raved by a lot of people including myself.
What Make This Serum Special
This serum uses plant-based ingredients to target signs of aging, large pores, and hyper-pigmentation with a patented antioxidant component called Sepicalm. This component consists of a mixture of water lily extract and amino acid including a pore complex of lemon grass, lime peel, and applemint.
It is also well known as “damn serum” due to the tingling sensation it creates when applied on top of damaged skin. The more severe the damage, the more it tingles (amino acid gives the tingling sensation). Over time, the tingling sensation will slowly fade as your skin heals.
The aloe vera leaf water in the serum provides additional moisture and anti-inflammatory benefits to the skin. Non-comedogenic oils make the skin looks more radiant and supple.

Star Ingredients
- Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil – due to the rich texture of the oil, it helps in creating a barrier formation to lock in skin’s natural moisture to prevent dryness and soften the skin. Its also high in antioxidant benefit that may be used to extend the shelf life of other fragile oils blends.
- Citrus limon (lemon) peel oil & Citrus Aurantifolia (lime oil) – antioxidants and natural citrusy fragrance.
- Aloe barbadensis leaf water – anti-inflammatory benefit and moisturising to the skin.
- Ocimum basilicum (basil) flower/leaf extract – helps in removing impurities and unclogs pores. It also helps in skin brightening.
Packaging
Comes in a sturdy transparent plastic bottle and you can clearly see the orangey colored serum with the mixture of oil based ingredients at the top layer and water-based ingredients at the the bottom layer.
It also comes with a dropper so we can adjust the amount of the serum that we want to apply across the face.
This serum comes in 50ml capacity and it lasted me 3-4 months even though I used it day and night everyday.
Texture & Scent
Once the mixture of oil and water based ingredient are mixed, it is lightweight and runny with a calming, yet citrus-y scent. The scent is not overwhelming and doesn’t linger for too long on the skin.
How To Use?
Use the serum after toning your skin, and shake it well before use to mix the separated oils with the water-based ingredients. Dispense the serum using the dropper onto palms and pat into skin for better absorption.
Does It Work?
As the serum is formulated free of potentially irritating ingredients including parabens, artificial fragrance, alcohol mineral oil, sulfates and silicones, it is suitable on my sensitive skin as I did not experience any major breakout as I was using it.
I read a lot of review on the tingling sensation this serum gave whenever applied on skin but i did not experience any tingling sensation the whole time im using the serum. The tingling sensation will only happen if there is damage on your skin. Luckily, I did not feel the tingling sensation at all.
Despite the oil based ingredients, the serum is lightweight and does not make my skin feel tacky and greasy at all. It also absorbs faster into the skin.
The serum works wonders especially on dry skin since it is packed with emollient and humectant ingredients which can help overcome skin dryness and it makes my skin feels smooth and supple.
I like how this serum can multitask as it is a mixture of oil and water both for hydrating and moisturising function. This is very convenient for people who love to minimize skincare products because for some skin condition, less is always more.
Recommendation
- Oily & combination skin: This serum can be a bit heavy on your skin especially during the day since it contains oil. It may make your skin feel more oily and uncomfortable. I highly recommend using the serum during your night routines; since the serum multitasks, it will help you minimize your skincare products.
- Dry skin : This serum will work perfectly for you as it is made for dry skin. It absorbs easily and helps in moisturizing dry areas on your skin.
Overall Thoughts
Due to its rich with antioxidant properties, this serum reduced my hyper-pigmentation a lot and my skin’s complexion look a bit brighter compared to before I include the serum into my routine.
I did not have any issues with my pores so i can only clearly see the skin tone results. My skin had brighten up two tones brighter than before and my dark acne marks faded faster than usual.
My skin looks more supple and well hydrated day by day and that’s the main reason why I can’t get over the serum even after I stopped using the serum for a while.
