Today, I wanna share my review on my most holy grail moisturizer so far, iUNIK Centella Calming Gel Cream. iUNIK is actually the acronym for Ideal, Unique, Natural, Ingredients, KnowHow. iUNIK was launched in late 2016 and is getting more and more hype in the K-beauty world. iUNIK was created with the idea that skincare should be simple and minimalistic.

-Minimalism regarding ingredients: only including necessary (all-natural) ingredients for effective skincare into their products.

-Minimalism in skincare steps: trying to simplify skincare steps and reducing the number of steps to the absolute minimum for effective skincare.

-Minimalism in packaging and design: simple and clean product packaging to match the brand’s philosophy.

And most of all, providing great skincare for a reasonable price.

A light and moisturizing gel cream can help to calm sensitive skin blemish and relief skin stresses with Centella Asiatica Leaf Water 70% and Tea Tree Leaf Water 10%. It also helps in calming blemishes, skin brightening, and wrinkle care.

Directions

After using basic toner and serum, apply suitable amount of cream and rub along skin texture outwards, letting it absorb. I always use this as my last routine and before applying sunblock (for AM routines).

Packaging, Scent and Texture

iUNIK Centella Calming Gel Cream comes in a tube with a pastel green cap inserted to a cardboard box, both dominated with white and pastel-green color. The cap has a very fine squeeze opening that dispenses the product without spilling. Somehow I presumed that this color combination was chosen to give a calming impression, and I love it.

I like the subtle citrus scent and the translucent look yet it is not entirely transparent with a dense gel-cream texture. It is slightly watery but not slippery and light in consistency. It also easily spreadable, 💯 marks for this. iUNIK also provides a seal to ensure the product integrity protection.

My Verdict

This is my second tube that I had used so far since the end of last year. The first one was gifted to me by my friend because she and this cream were not meant to be together. She had some reaction towards this cream and she decided to give it to me since I was looking for a moisturizer for my combination and sensitized skin.

The first time I tried using it, I totally fell in love with it. It is really lightweight, easily absorbed and is not sticky at all. I felt like I was wearing nothing and my skin didn’t feel tight. The cream works with all my skincare routines (i always switch my products) and it can be worn day, night or whenever i want.

As we know, centella is fantastic in treating wounds in the most gentle way possible. I love to use it, especially when dealing with acne scarring. It is also good for healing which is good for when I have any redness on my skin. This cream claims to lower skin temperature and I am sure it does what it claims. It makes my skin feel cool when I use it in the middle of the day.

iUNIK Centella Calming Gel Cream also claims to be light and moisturizing, which I fell in love with. It gives the moisturizing effect my skin needs despite its light texture, and hydrates my face very well, making it healthy and plump. Moreover, the light texture also helps to quicken the absorption. I don’t have to wait long for it to absorb before applying my sunblock.

Even though I own 3 other moisturizers right now, I always go back to this cream. I will always repurchase this cream no matter what. This cream is really good for my combination skin I recommend it to those who has redness, and is still fighting with acne. I believe combination-oily skin peeps are gonna love this cream. As for dry skin, this cream might not be enough for you in terms of hydration.
