Etude House Soon Jung Moisture Relief All In One Gel Review

One of my greatest discoveries in 2019 is the Etude House Soon Jung Moisture Relief All In One Gel, one of the products from the Soon Jung Skincare line.

Just in case you have not heard or read about the Soon Jung Skincare line, it is specially formulated for people with sensitive skin. The products in this line are free from ingredients that will irritate the skin, such as fragrance and alcohol. Notable ingredients that are present in most products from this line are Panthenol and Madecassoside.

Packaging :

It has the signature design of the Soon Jung line, which is transparent plastic, white, and blue. I love the minimal design as I can easily track how much product left in the tube.

This gel comes in a squeeze tube with a flip-top cap. The dispenser opening is quite big, just a little squeeze will dispense an adequate amount of gel.

As expected of any gels that does not contain any fragrance, it is scentless. When I first squeezed it out, I find the texture interesting. It seemed like a thick gel looking at the tube, but it is actually more to like a soft gel-like consistency.

I would describe its texture to be quite liquidy as opposed to the common aloe vera gel which has a jelly, pudding-like consistency.

Texture: A liquidy gel

The interesting part is when I spread the gel, it becomes similar to the common aloe soothing gel. When squeezed out, it is a bit chunky but it applies smoothly.

My Verdicts :

It leaves a cooling sensation upon contact with skin. I like to put it in the refrigerator, so when I want to use it, I just take it out and spread the cool gel onto the areas that need extra soothing and cooling.

I love that it’s a liquidy consistency, which absorbs seamlessly into the skin with no tackiness or film. While some people might be using this gel as a moisturizer, I treat it as a pre-moisturiser. This is quite okay to use alone for my midday routine since it is lightweight and leave no film on my skin. It does not suffocate the skin, which is good. However, when I am working during day time, I would opt for some heavier cream since my 8 to 5 job is in an air-conditioned space. As for my night skincare routine, I prefer to use this as the first layer before putting a second layer of more occlusive cream.

One instant visible result is that it reduces the redness on my skin. At some odd times, redness would show up at the sides of my nose due to unknown reasons. Whenever this situation occurs, I would quickly put this gel on that area and just like magic, the redness is gone!

Another goodness of the gel in terms of soothing my skin is after I am under the sun for a while. If you’ve ever experience the feeling of your skin being stretched out after hours of sun exposure, this gel will help to reduce the skin’s tightness due to the sun’s heat. It feels great on the skin! Soothing, moisturizing, and healing at the same time.

I would definitely recommend anyone to at least have a soothing gel ready. This is one of the good ones to pick. It is not as thick as the common soothing gels but great at soothing the skin. It contains minimal ingredients as well, so sensitive skin would enjoy this gel as well.
