REVIEW | BENTON Aloe Hyaluron Cream

Another great day for another great review! I bet some of us are having a hard time searching for the right moisturizer that is suitable for your skin. So here, I want to share my review on Benton Aloe Hyaluron Cream.

Benton is a cosmetic brand from South Korea. They are well known for producing skincare that is skin friendly which makes it suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin as Benton carefully develops their products with great ingredients and formulations.

Benton’s Aloe Hyaluron Cream is a white cream with a light and moist texture that can be used as your last skincare step without any stickiness feeling. It contains 40% Aloe extracts and 7-Hyaluronic Acid Complex for an extra hydrating and soothing sensation, making your skin feel smooth, soft, & supple.

It also claims to provide sufficient hydration without having to apply multiple products, suitable for skip-care steps or skincare diets (minimalist skincare routine). Highly moisturizing to the skin despite the lightweight texture.

  • Aloe Ingredient: 80% of the cream that provides hydration and nourishes the skin. It also soothes and helps moisturize sensitized skin from external stressors.
  • 7-Hyaluronic Acid-Complex: 7 types of hyaluronic acid with different molecular mass penetrates to the deepest layer of the skin to keep it hydrated with its high moisturizing ability.

On top of having these ingredients on board, the Benton Aloe Hyaluron Cream is also free of any artificial ingredients and fragrances, PEGs, volatile alcohols, silicones, coloring, and other controversial ingredients. All of these controversial ingredients are excluded fundamentally from the planning stages of the cream. It is as natural and clean as you can get.

What I like about Benton’s products is their simple and minimalist packaging. When producing a moisturizer Benton had always use tube packaging instead of a tub packaging which makes it more user-friendly and hygienic as it is not exposed to bacteria in the air and on our fingers. The cream comes in 50g capacity packed into a slim, squeeze tube packaging with a small opening on top of the tube for easy product dispense according to our own preference.

The moisturizer has a milky white creamy texture. Despite that, it has a lightweight formulation that makes it perfect for the layering method as the moisturizer doesn’t leave any greasy or sticky feeling on top of my skin. The entire time I’m using the cream, I did not detect any scent at all as the cream is free from fragrance. What I love about Benton is, they have always stuck to their principles by producing skincare products that are natural and free from harmful ingredients such as fragrance which can easily sensitize sensitive skin conditions.

I routinely use the cream as my night moisturizer to seal the hydration provided by lotion, essence, and serum. I am fascinated by the moisturizing capability of the cream provided. I usually apply a small pea size of the cream on my whole face but it provides my skin with long-lasting moisture until morning. The entire time I used the moisturizer, I always wake up with well-moisturized skin, smooth & a supple complexion. My skin looks fresh whole day long!

The cream also works well on its own. Sometimes on my lazy days or on days my skin hates product layering, I would use the cream alone without any other product companion and to my surprise, it didn’t break me out or trigger my sensitive skin condition which is prone to acne. Since the cream incorporates 7 types of hyaluronic acid which are very powerful hydrating properties and aloe vera as supplementary soothing property,  it helps my skin get enough nutrition although I’m only using the cream alone.

With the hot and humid weather like Malaysia, I don’t think this cream is suitable to be used as day time moisturizer for oily skin (it suits dry skin better). Despite the lightweight texture, the cream takes quite some time to fully absorb into the skin.

It seems to create a “moisture barrier” that suffocates my skin; feels as though the product just sits on top of my face and somehow makes me feel uncomfortable.

If I wanted to layer the moisturizer in the day time, I will need to apply a really thin layer of it. If I put too much cream at once, my skin feels uncomfortable with the barrier and I feel stuffy and greasy.

But I do love the cream for my night skincare routine because it always ensures that I wake up to glowy and well-hydrated skin.

Overall, this is a decent moisturizer, I highly recommend the cream for dry and sensitive skin that lack soothing care and nourishment. I also think the cream works great on colder days because my skin tends to feel dry and needs extra moisture care which the cream can provide with its powerful hydration. But for days when in hot weather, I’m better off with lighter moisturizer types (gel or emulsion type) rather than a cream.
