Review | Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Today I will share with you guys the first moisturizer that I’ve ever used when I got into this skincare thingy. 😘 I’m so blessed and lucky that this moisturizer didn’t let me down. My oily, but dehydrated skin really loved it!

I love this simply because it’s a ‘GEL’ type moisturizer. When I was still a newbie in skincare, I kept reading anything that was related to my skin type and I found out that gel type moisturizer suits me. So, I browsed drugstore moisturizer product recommendations for oily skin, and I saw this product! This is not only a gel type moisturizer, but it’s even a WATER GEL? Whoaaa it looked tempting and fancy! 😍 So yes, I bought it right away!  This is not only available in drugstores, you can also get this product on Hermo and sometimes it’s on sale and very worth it to grab!

This product claims to be a unique oil-free moisturiser with a light texture and the long lasting, intense nourishing power of a cream, that absorbs instantly and keeps skin hydrated all day. The formula contains hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the skin. It acts as a sponge for dry skin cells, moisturizing with up to 1,000 times its weight in water, resulting in more smooth and hydrated skin. It protects the skin barrier, continuously releasing moisture all day, leaving skin supple and renewed.

It comes in a blue glass tub, with quantity of 50ml, a standard quantity for a moisturizer. It has a lid to secure it but there’s no spatula inside. It’s quite disappointing in terms of hygiene. But let’s just skip that part as this moisturizer give me tons of goodness 😘 Inside is a blue colored translucent gel that is very watery and runny, hence it’s called ‘water gel’. It’s not sticky and greasy just the way I like it on my skin. It smells like aqua, ocean-y scent, which is very fresh and clean. The scent is not overpowering in my opinion.

Ingredient list :

My experience :

I love this moisturizer as it’s very lightweight on my skin. Its watery texture glides beautifully and quickly absorbed leaving no sticky and greasy feeling. Plus, I can feel the cooling sensation due to the gel itself. I tend to get flaky and dry skin if I’m in air-conditioned room for a long time, but since I use this product as my night moisturizers, I admit that it helps my skin a lot! It gives enough hydration that my skin needs. I would say this product is best used especially at night, as I will wake up with soft skin ever! A small dollop of this moisturizer is enough to cover my whole face. So yes a little goes a long way with this gem! Sometimes I opt to use it on day routine as it’s wearable under makeup. It will ensure smooth and silky canvas before I put my makeup. The fact that it’s easily absorbed but at the same it give long-lasting moisture to my skin made me love this product endlessly. I definitely will go back to this gem as it’s became my one of fav moisturizers so far!

Rate : 4.8/5

In my opinion, this product is great for normal to oily skin but honestly I think it’s not really enough for people with dry skin. The scent also matters for those with overly sensitive nose as it can be quite strong for them. Sensitive skin also should be aware regarding the presence of parfum in this product.
