Bare for Bare Skin+ Probiotics Mask Review

Have you heard about probiotics in skincare? Or maybe you’re only familiar with probiotics in Yakult or Vitagen? 😏

What are probiotics? They are basically microorganisms similar to the naturally occurring bacteria in our gut. They’re also known as ‘good bacteria’ as it facilitates numerous health functions.

But of course I will talk more about probiotics in skincare. It is really advantageous as “it optimizes the healing benefits of our skin’s good bugs.” (Dr Whitney Bowe, NYC Dermatologist and author of The Beauty of Dirty Skin)

Probiotics act as a protective shield against bad bacteria, soothing inflammation and also preventing premature aging in skin.

Bare for Bare, a well known brand from Singapore famous for their hair and body care, took one step further by initiating to incorporate probiotics in their sheet masks. It coincides with their philosophy, which is using the natural healing power of plants to awaken the skin’s regeneration process.

The Probiotics Masks range comes in three variants, which are Skin+ Balance, Skin+ Glow and Skin+ Revival.

MY THOUGHTS :
First of all I love the packaging, with brown colored paper, it’s very environmental friendly. It has a rose scent, not overpowering for me, and does not linger while masking. The material is a thin cotton type, with plastic backing. The essence is milky, not sticky or greasy on my skin.

My experience :
Thankfully, there are no qualms and irritation while I’m masking. The adherence is A++! I definitely felt the cooling sensation. It was very pleasant throughout the 18 minutes masking session. Upon removing the mask, there was quite a lot of essence left. The essence is quickly absorbed, leaving my skin with a semi matte finishing. I can feel my was skin a lil’ bit firmer and more elastic. For the radiance and smooth skin texture, honestly it’s not really obvious. Maybe it will be more noticeable after consistent usage. I also found out that this mask gave me a natural glow to my skin. Love it!

The packaging is always A+ for me. It has citrusy herbally scent, I think because of bergamot oil presence. The material is thin soft cotton with plastic backing. The essence is just the same as previous mask, it’s milky liquidy type.

My experience :
Upon wearing the mask, I can sense a lit bit sizzled but it’s very mild and bearable. The scent is quite strong, and it’s lingering all the way of masking. I’m really amazed with the adherence of the mask, eventhough the sheet material is not the thinnest, but its very comfortable as it’s like hugging my face tightly! This mask wasgetting dry a lil bit faster than the Skin+ Revival Mask, especially on the lower part, but the forehead area was  still wet. Please noted that I slather the leftover essence on my arms and neck, it’s not sticky or greasy at all, it’s very quickly absorbed. I wear it for 15 minutes, and the bottom part is almost dried. I patted the leftover essence on my face, it feels quite sticky at first due to there’s a lot of essence but it’s quickly dissappear and leave my skin to dewy finish when the essence is fully absorbed. There’s no greasy or heavy feeling, my skin feel very refreshing and alive. The complexion improves a bit, my skin looks a tone brighter. The most fav part is how this mask makes my skin very glowing and healthy. My pores seems refined and less visible. Love love love!

MY THOUGHTS :

It smells like something herbally, lavender scent. The essence is milky, runny. Just like the others, the mask adherence is A+, it’s adhered like a star! The fitting is great as well.

My experience :
My most fav part with this mask is how it adhered beautifully to my skin. The material is not really thin like a second skin, but it’s ability to adhere very well really amaze me. I can feel cooling sensation while masking. There’s no qualms when I wearing this mask. In fact, the great adherence makes me feel very comfortable wearing it. After 10 minutes, the mask starting to dry especially on the lower part. I removed this mask after 15 minutes, the leftover essence is still there, it feels quite tacky at first but it slowly turns to semi matte finishing. My face looks very supple, healthy and bouncy, I notice its glowing too! To be honest, the hydrating effect is not the best that I’ve ever had but still it’s such a decent mask.
