REVIEW | Garnier Serum Mask Hydra Bomb

Garnier is a quite famous brand in drugstores as they provide an awesome range of skincare products including the famous micellar water that got so much great feedback from customers. I myself love their micellar water lines. Since I am a sheet masks lover, when I stumbled upon Garnier sheetmask lines, I’m was very much interested and I bought some of the variants to try. Today I will review one of the mask which is Garnier Serum Mask Hydra Bomb.

Looking at the “Hydra Bomb” and the description on the front package with ‘Super-Hydrating Replumping Tissue Mask’, my first impression of this mask is it will be super hydrating for my skin, I imagine my skin feels very moist and supple after drinking the hydrating essence from this mask. Furthermore, this mask also claims that 1 piece of it is equivalent for 1 week of serum. Wow, sound exaggerated right? Haha! That’s why this mask really caught my attention.

This mask claims that it is enriched with pomegranate extract and hyaluronic acid, it will intensely rehydrate, replumps skin and replenish moisture. On the package, it is also states thay after 15 minutes, skin will be intensely rehydrated, looks smoother and the complexion also will be more radiant. It is recommended to use this mask 3 times per week to get the optimum results of reduced fine lines, skin looking plumper and revitalised.

It’s honestly quite frustrating looking at the ingredients that this product highlights which are pomegranate extract and Sodium Hyaluronate are not in the top ingredients means the percentage of the ingredients is not very high, in fact there’s the presence of alcohol as the fourth ingredients. But all in all, it didn’t discouraging me to try this mask.

Packaging, Material , Fitting & Adherence

I would say the packet is slightly bigger than the standard sheet masks out there. It comes in shiny plastic aluminium packet in blue colour to show that this one is focused in hydration, I guess. I appreciate there’s all information needed stated at the back, so it’s very useful for the user to understand. Please note that currently they had a new packaging but all the ingredients are practically the same. The mask inside is in blue and white, the blue one turned out is a protective layer to make the mask easier to unfold. This mask is made from 100% natural cellulose fibre and they advertised this mask as a ’tissue-mask’. I do feel it’s like a wet cotton tissue that is richly soaked with the essence. I’m amazed with the adherence! I think, due to the material used, it adhered perfectly to my skin. The fitting is also great, as stated at the package, it is designed to fit Asian facial contours. I’m very happy with the quality of the mask.

My experience :

As I mentioned earlier, I did expect that this mask will give super-hydrating effect to my skin. I’m very happy it turned out as amazing as I expected! The mask is generously soaked with the essence, the essence itself for me is slightly thicker than water but it is not tacky or sticky. There’s a lil bit leftover behind so i just slather it on my arms and neck. I managed to wear this mask for 20 minutes. Even the packet state to wear it for 15 minutes, the mask is still wet so I don’t want to waste any goodness from it. I would say my masking session was very great and satisfying. Given the material is like tissue, I’m amazed on how amazing it adhered to my skin, feel like the mask hugging my skin tightly, and showering my skin with all the hydrating essence. I think my skin was happily drinking up all the nutrient given. It it shown as after masking time, my skin is very moist and supple. I’m really satisfied with the result! This mask did fulfill its claims! My skin feels very plump and well-hydrated. Because of the amazing hydration, my skin complexion looks radiant too with a subtle glow! It looks so refreshed and alive. After 10 minutes, my skin feels so soft and smooth! Oh man, this mask is really good I tell you! Even though right after masking it feels a lil bit sticky but don’t worry it will disappear within minutes and leave skin with dewy finishing.

Rate : 4.9/5! I will hoard this mask and add it to my sheet mask stash haha! Knowing that it’s very great, I definitely sure it’s best used as a pre-makeup skin prep mask because it will result to a smooth and flawless makeup! Even though this mask is designed specifically for dehydrated skin, I believe it is suitable for all skin types, but as usual you still have to patch test it first as YMMV.
