Mise En Scene Perfect Repair Serum Review

It has been ages since I last cut my hair, especially with the Movement Control Order by the government, I haven’t been able to go to my usual hair salon! With my naturally thick hair, my hair currently closely resembles a lion’s mane. I’m not kidding! The worst part is that I’m using more conditioner but it still doesn’t help much with my frizziness and tangling problems since my hair is so thick. I couldn’t take it anymore and decided to try some hair treatment products. I’ve used hair masks and cream type wash off treatments in the past but the smoothness never lasts more than a day.

Mise En Scene’s Perfect Repair Serum was a serum I wanted to try previously but kind of forgot about it until this day came. Hair serums always made me worry about it being heavy and oily, but since this hair serum has been ranked 1st in the hair essence category for 8 consecutive years alongside winning 37 beauty awards in Korea, I knew this probably wouldn’t go wrong.

Mise En Scene’s Perfect Repair Serum prides itself on bringing miracle to your hair in 3 days with 7 essential naturally derived oils. In just 3 days, it claims to be able to fix the 7 symptoms of damages hair:

  • Resilience
  • Roughness (me ✅)
  • Split ends (me ✅)
  • Lustre (me ✅)
  • Moisture content (me ✅)
  • Strength
  • Tangled hair (me ✅)

The hair serum not only intensely repairs and revives damaged hair, it also provides a protective barrier, strengthening the hair to reduce its proneness to further damage. Some of its key ingredients include argan oil (to promote gloss and tame frizzing), coconut oil (to nourish the hair for healthier growth) and jojoba oil (to moisturize the hair without leaving excess residue).

Ingredients list:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Dimethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Glycolipids, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Lipids, Fragrance

How to use:

  1. After washing hair, towel dry your hair and pump a coin sized amount (about 2-3 pumps) onto your palms
  2. Spread hair serum evenly onto your damp hair
  3. After drying hair, apply more at the ends of your hair

*Serum can be applied to wet or dry hair

Side note: OMG can you see how tangled my hair is when wet?!

Okay, I was absolutely ecstatic to try Mise En Scene’s Perfect Repair Serum when it arrived since it was rated highly on Hermo with almost 4k reviews at an average of 4/5 stars! I literally squirmed a little because it could finally save my lion mane hair!

First off, let’s talk about the scent. I am absolutely 😍 IN LOVE 😍 with the scent! I can’t wrap my finger around what it smells like, but it’s definitely pleasant and resembles what gorgeous hair would smell like. 😂 Sadly this amazing scent didn’t stay on my hair after it’s dried. It only lasted a short moment while my hair was wet and it pretty much disappeared after that. Now this was disappointing since I really loved the scent and it would have been so nice to have it stay on my hair! 😭

The texture of the serum is thick and mildly sticky. I quite like the consistency and with 2-3 pumps, I’m able to get full coverage on my hair so plus points for that!

Before (left) VS
after (right)

Before this my hair was tangled, frizzy and I had split end issues. This was actually taken on a good hair day.

After using the hair serum for the first time, my hair was already so soft and smooth! It’s become significantly straighter and controlled. You could even see the shine and how bouncy it looks! I was amazed and absolutely in love with it. The final results were even better than some expensive hair treatments that I’ve tried in the past! The only thing I’m regretting is not trying Mise En Scene’s Perfect Repair Serum sooner!! 😭 Okay at least I know now and so do you 😉 No need to thank me! 😏

Minus 0.5 marks only because the scent didn’t stay when I really wanted it to! Other than that, it’s an overall great, affordable hair serum that I would repurchase over and over again.

Rating: 4.5 / 5 🌟
