REVIEW | Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter

A little bit of background of this Vaseline brand. In case you are curious, it was actually founded in 1870 by Robert Chesebrough, Vaseline® products have been helping skin heal dry skin for over 150 years. I bought my very first Lip care when I was an intern in Unilever. Since I had chapped and dry lips, so I decided to try on this petroleum jelly.

So here you go my review:

I am super picky when it comes to lip balms because I have tried so many that seem to just mask the dryness and make the lips more hydrated by coating with a greasy layer over the top. As I mentioned before in my other review, I have very bad chapped lips ever since I started my medications. It is really bad, I cannot go a day without any lip balm, or else the next day I’ll have a very very dry and cracked lips.

When it comes to winter, this is the thing that I feared the most. Whenever I need to make a trip to winter or cold countries, I needed to make sure my lips are fully moisturized all the time. I had a very bad time applying a good lipstick with my cracked lips. That’s the reason why I hardly use any lipstick nowadays. I don’t use any matte lipstick as it will make my lips even drier.

My opinion:

This lip therapy is really a game changer for me. It is definitely on the greasier side and does take a while to absorb. But I don’t care, as long as it does the job. I use it at night especially, for their soothing and hydrating purposes. They give that feeling of relaxation and it does not bother me at all. The scent is light and pleasant too. It is a great size to keep in your handbag as well, so tiny and convenient. You have it on you whenever you need it.

One bad thing about this lip balm is the packaging, I would say. Opening and closing it is not as quick as with lip balms that come in a tube and having to put your finger in it each time isn’t hygienic either. It doesn’t come with an applicator so I’m sticking my finger in it every time. Still, I much prefer my lip balms in squeezy tubes or roll-up tubes than the tub packaging though.
