REVIEW | Bloom with Kocostar Sunflower Slice Mask Sheet

Ever wondered what it’s like to wear an Instagram face filter in real life, but lack the makeup skills to manually craft amazing looks on your face? (Yes, hello, it me. 😂) Or maybe you just want something fun to play with during your quarantine downtime?

If so, let me introduce you to this super cute sunflower mask sheet from Kocostar! Infused with juicy hydrating essence, you can now stick on some patches and reimagine yourself into a pretty human sunflower wallpaper! Trust me, you’ll definitely have at least a bit of fun with this one. 😜

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Feel happy and bright with the most romantic mask sheet in the world! KOCOSTAR’s Sunflower Flower Mask Sheet contains 10,000ppm of sunflower extract, which firms and moisturizes the skin for a much more plump and healthy look.

What it does:
Target parched skin piece-by-piece with these easy-to-use Slice Masks. The twelve individual flower pieces infused with refreshing, skin-restoring extracts can be applied like a sticker wherever extra moisture is needed – face, neck arms or legs!

FULL INGREDIENTS:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Milk Protein Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Betaine, Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Phragmites Communis Extract, Buddleja Davidii Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Flower/Leaf Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Leaf Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicum Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Allantoin, Arginine, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance.

CONTENTS:

Folded sheet (backed by plastic) with individual sunflower patches cut out lightly and ready to be removed. Basically, 2 sheets of 6 patches (12 patches total) drenched in 20ml of clear essence.

The essence itself has a moderate-strong perfumey-floral scent which I personally don’t find very enjoyable, but it’s bearable considering these are point masks and not a full on face mask. However, the scent does linger while masking, and only dissipates once patches are removed.

HOW TO USE:

  1. Unfold the soaked sheet gently, take each flower and apply them onto areas of your face*.
  2. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Remove and massage any excess serum into the skin.

*NOTE: You may apply each flower onto any area of skin (including the body) where treatment/extra hydration is needed.

MY SKIN TYPE:

Sensitive (prone to redness and irritation), combination-dry, acne-prone and dehydrated.

OVERALL THOUGHTS & EXPERIENCE:

Not gonna lie, this is really fun to use. 😂 Yes, it’s a very gimmicky concept, but if you want to indulge in some childishness as you play around with these “stickers”, I definitely recommend trying ’em out. I also think it’d be very fun to play with during sleepovers with friends as it’s a 2-in-1 self-care and entertainment combo! And it’d definitely be great as a nice, quirky gift as well.

Results-wise, it does its job in hydrating and plumpling the skin with moisture, though I did notice some stickiness after I removed all the sunflower patches.  However, this can easily be remedied with a light spritz of water to encourage absorption.

Also, I definitely think that you can use one half of the patches (AKA one sheet of 6 patches) for your whole face, and store the remaining in the packet in the fridge to be used later… but from experience, it’s quite hard to put the folded sheet back into the packet after use. 😅 Worth a try if you don’t want to use them all up at once, though!

MY RATING:

🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 (4/5)

Pretty good. Minus marks because of the moderately-strong fragrance (does dissipate afterwards, but lingers throughout the masking session), and the stickiness felt post-masking. Otherwise, hydrating effect is good, and minimal skin irritation noticed.
