Containing just 5 ingredients, this product has 91.9% Barberry root extract as its main active ingredient to aid in cooling stressed, sensitive skin – which, hello, is my skin to a T!

With a four-decade history, the clinic is one of three major Korea oriental medical clinics which specialize in skin treatment, for such conditions as sensitive skin and atopic dermatitis. Its philosophy is to promote healthy skin by giving the skin the capabilities for 'self-healing'.

FULL INGREDIENTS:
Coptis Japonica Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate.
VOLUME:
100ml (also available in 200ml)
PACKAGING:
Deep blue tinted plastic bottle with a spray nozzle dispenser covered by a clear plastic cap. No outer box is provided for the 100ml (it’s just wrapped in plastic), but the 200ml comes with a box!
I’ve heard complaints from others on how the mist produced isn’t very fine – which I can’t wholly deny – but personally, I don’t mind as it does a decent job distributing product nonetheless. Definitely hold it at a distance for a more even application, if needed!
HOW TO USE:
Spray adequate amount of mist directly on skin and lightly pat for faster absorption.
SCENT:
Unscented. No additional fragrance included – artificial or natural. 👌
TEXTURE/FINISH:
Clear, lightweight liquid which absorbs easily. Definitely gives an instant cooling effect once sprayed onto the skin.
MY SKIN TYPE:
Sensitive (prone to redness and irritation), combination-dry, acne-prone and dehydrated.
OVERALL THOUGHTS & EXPERIENCE:
On average, my skin gets heated quite quickly, especially when I’m stressed or the weather gets too hot (hello, year-round summer in Malaysia!) so I’ve definitely had my eye on Pyunkang Yul’s Temperature Down line in particular. Hence, when I ran out of my HG (Holy Grail) Bio-Essence Mist, I decided to finally pick this baby up!
And after about a month or so of having the Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner in my skincare routine rotation, I’ve definitely enjoyed using it as a quick fix to refresh and hydrate my skin. As I bought the 100ml version, it’s also travel-friendly and easy to bring around in my bag. Though, I mostly use it in between skincare steps for optimum moisture retention benefits.
But does it live up to its claims? Yes, it does – at least for me. I’ve found that it does in fact cool down and reduce redness in my skin. So if you suffer from sensitive skin or just need some safe skincare for irritated skin days, I highly recommend this mist. Though, YMMV as always!

If it’s not obvious already, I’ve really enjoyed this product from Pyunkang Yul. In fact, I liked it enough to even purchase the bigger, 200ml size! Can’t wait to continue cooling down my temperamental skin with this baby! 😁
