If you are a Korean skincare products lover, you probably know the cruelty-free brand Cosrx .
In 2019, Cosrx launched 2 types of sunscreens according to your skin types; normal to dry skin and oily skin. I was truly excited! I have oily skin and was looking for a sunscreen that suits my skin is a little bit difficult. Most of the sunscreens in the markets often make my skin oilier after 2 hours of using them.
So, I decided to try the Shield Fit All Green Comfort Sun SPF50+ PA++++ as it is meant for oily skin. First, let me share about the product:
“EWG All green grade & 100% physical sunscreen
EWG all green formula comforts the skin while providing perfect protection from both UVA and UBA. This complete skin shield applies effortlessly to protect the skin from overexposure to sunlight and pollution.
Mild comfort system
This comforting sunscreen relieves irritation while calming redness with a unique “Mild comfort system formulation with Centella Asiatica extract and nymphaea Alba Flower Extract. It helps sensitive skin look and feels more comfortable.
Anti-pollution skin shield

Soft matte finish
The weightless cream texture helps control sebum production to smooth the skin without clogging the pores.
It leaves the skin with a soft matte finish with no greasy residue.”

*Do note that I own the old packaging of the Cosrx’s Shield Fit All Green Comfort Sun SPF50+ PA++++
The product comes in a slim green, plastic tube with a screw cap. I personally love the size of slender tube since it fits in my hands’ grip and just about the perfect size in my bag for a go-to sunscreen.
- 35 ml (old packaging)
- 50 ml (new packaging)
I think it is decent to first talk about the packaging. The narrow nozzle makes it easy to control the amount of the product dispensed. Say no to wastage of over-dispensed product!
It has quite strong scent, the common scent of a physical sunscreen. It dissipates after a few minutes, so I do not mind that. It does not contain any fragrance; I think sensitive skin can use it.
I use the 2-Fingers Rule to apply the sunscreen. Since it takes some time to spread it even, I usually put on 1 finger length of product on my whole face first, followed by another finger length as for the second layer for sufficient UV protection. Luckily, I did not experience any piling on my skin. It feels lightweight as if I do not have any sunscreen on my face. So another plus point for it.
As expected of a physical sunscreen, this product has a creamy texture that has a medium spreadability. I need about a minute to even it out on my round face. The white cast is a bit apparent at first but after it has blended in with my skin’s natural face oil/sebum, it left quite a tone up effect look.
It gives out a velvety matte finish with a slightly drying sensation on the skin. So, do remember to put on some moisturizer in prior to this sunscreen, especially if you have dry skin.
It lasted a good a few hours on my face. I would reapply the sunscreen using a 1-Finger length after 3 hours. From my personal experiences, reapplying it is a good experience as it does not pile on my skin. For a smoother experience on reapplying sunscreens, try using a cushion puff or sponge. You’ll thank me later!
