Have you ever wondered what is the difference between mosturizer for evening routine and sleeping mask?
But are they practically the same product but comes with a different name? Wait! They seems similar but eventually they have a bit difference in terms of the functions.
Night mosturizer basically provides a nightly dose of hydration, for moisturising and nourishing dry skin. (Daily vanity) A sleeping mask, as its name suggests, is a product that is designed to be left on overnight without you have to wash it off. Sleeping mask functions for overnight hydration and for reinforcing the skincare routine. What makes it differ from mosturizer is this product is usually packed with more active ingredients and deliver better efficacies. (Daily Vanity) There’s ingredients in the sleeping mask that you can target spesific skincare concerns such as anti-aging, brightening, moisturising or acne care. (Ipsy)
I hope this explanation gives you a rough idea of differences between evening mosturizer and sleeping mask. For me I love it both and I’ll use it separately depending on my skin concerns on that moment. But today, I’ll specifically tell you more about one of sleeping mask that I’ve tried or for this product, it’s called sleeping essence. It’s Nanowhite Fresh Aqua Sleeping Essence.
Water, Butylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Clyclodextrin, Laminaria Saccharina Extract, PEG-45M, Triethanolamine, Ascorbyl Glucoside, CI 42090, CI 19140
How to use
1. After cleansing and toning, spread a generous amount into face and neck.
2. Massage gently in an outward and upward motion and leave it overnight.
First of all, I adore the cute packaging! It comes in a plastic jar with the protective lid inside but unfortunately there’s no spatula included. I honestly very concerned about the spatula since it’s necessary for hygiene purpose but it’s okay for this time I just use my own spatula.
The texture is very inviting I would say. With light blue color, the watery gel consistency really captures my heart! As for someone with oily skin, this kind of texture is definitely my preference when choosing mosturizer or sleeping mask. The scent is also very nice and kind of comforting, not too overwhelming for me.
Despite of the watery gel texture, I expected it to be lightweight but actually it’s not that light upon applying to skin. I prefer to say it has kind of filmy feeling but it’s does not really bother me after a few minutes. It will be fully absorbed into the skin without any tacky feeling. The only thing that disturbed me is that it gives me a kinda warm sensation upon applying it to my skin. I’ve tried it for a few times, even with different products included in my routine. But the warm sensation still happened, sometime it feels so obvious that I’ve to wash it off immediately due too the warm sensation along with tingly feeling. After a few attempts, I concluded that maybe there’s an ingredient in this product that doesn’t suit my skin. But after all, I’m still grateful it didn’t breakout my skin or gives any adverse effects to my skin.
On the other hand, despite of the warm sensation on my skin, I really love the after effects of this product. Every time I use this sleeping essence, I wake up with very soft and smooth skin! My skin feels less oily, in fact the smoothness stays throughout the day. The effect is very amazing. I believe if this product suits my skin, I will definitely love it to the max since the price is also very affordable and the after effects is wonderful. I personally recommend to those who want to try it to patch test it with first before use it. For people with dry and sensitive skin, please pay more attention to the ingredients since it has fragrance and few ingredients that will be potentially irritated to your skin.
But again, it’s all about your skin. In everything related to skincare, the principle of YMMV which is Your Mileage May Vary is always have to be applied. Product that doesn’t work for my skin may work for yours, and vice versa. As I told you, please always patch test it first okay.
