REVIEW | Always Be Pure Forest Therapy Calming Cream

Not sure if the same is happening to you, but ever since the government mandate to wear masks, my skin has been flaring up like nobody’s business! Maskne (mask acne) is real guys, and as someone who has never really had acne issues, this was really a first for me. Especially when the weather is hot, my affected areas just swell up with mini bumps and redness that I had the urge to buy something that could calm it down. Coincidentally, I was running out of day time moisturiser so I decided to try Alway Be Pure’s Forest Therapy Calming Cream, mainly because it has the word calming in its name! Yes, this was really the reason 😂

Alway Be Pure’s Forest Therapy Calming Cream contains 9700 ppm (parts per million) of cypress water which is extracted from the clean forest. Cypress water is derived from the cyprus tree which contains phytoncide that is able to help the skin relieve stress, soothe sensitive skin while delivering deep and long-lasting moisture. This cool watery type cream is able to protect the skin from external heat stimulation in the day while providing a cooling effect over the night. Containing EGW green level ingredients, this cream is hypo-allergic friendly and is oil and stickiness free.

Recommended for:

  • All skin types, sensitive skin
  • Concerned about excessive sebum, keep water and oil balance
  • Red and irritated skin
  • Dry and rough skin

My review:

Going through bad maskne had me really eager to fix my issues and I wanted to find a moisturiser that had a calming effect, something like Dear Klair’s Midnight Blue Cream but friendlier to the wallet. I tried Dear Klair’s Midnight Blue Calming Cream from one of their samples (Dear Klairs is super generous with their samples!) and I was so in love with it! I could feel the instant cooling effect after application and there was no stickiness nor did it leave my skin oily after a day out.

Always Be Pure’s Forest Therapy Calming Cream was a very promising contender to my needs as it had great reviews online. It came in a simple tub and when I first tested it on my hand, I felt a mild cooling effect which got me convinced that I may have made the right choice. Though when applying it on my face did not give me much of a cooling effect (I’m slightly disappointed about that), I’m glad that the scent was mild and did not cause any irritations.

The watery-type cream absorbed into my skin almost instantly and didn’t leave any stickiness behind. Only a small amount is needed for my entire face and after testing it for a whole day, my skin still remained moist and did not oil up. Despite its watery texture, I was surprised that it worked well as both a day moisturiser as well as a night one!

Overall, I’m satisfied that Always Be Pure’s Forest Therapy Calming Cream does live up to its claims, but minus 1 star because it wasn’t as cooling as what I hoped for.
