I remember the first ever skincare product that I purchased since starting my kbeauty journey was Cosrx’s Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. It has worked wonders for my skin healing my acne scars while keeping my skin hydrated throughout the day. I decided to try out a different snail essence, this time from Benton because:
- I enjoy trying out new products
- I worry that using the same product for a long duration will lessen its effectiveness as my skin may be used to it (if that makes sense but this is my reasoning 😂)
Benton’s Snail Bee High Content Essence is tested under dermatological control, perfect for sensitive skin people alike! 🙋 This essence claims to be able to help the skin’s hydration and smoothness with ingredients that can provide skin protection, nutrition supply, skin vitality and barrier improvement.
Some key ingredients in Benton’s Snail Bee High Content Essence includes:
Snail Secretion Filtrate (90%) – the wonder beauty ingredient that contains skin-friendly antioxidants, proteins, elastin, and glycolic acids. It assists to repair photo damage and is especially helpful for blemish-prone, uneven skin tone and post-blemish scarring.
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water – Also known as green tea extract contains active ingredient polyphenols, which possess powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Niacinamide – a form of Vitamin B3 that works well for overall brightening.
Human Ogliopeptide-1 – plays a role in the production of collagen and elastin.
Bee Venom – a peptide found in bee venom that can assist in collagen production and contains beneficial enzymes.

Since I already knew how snail content essence would work on my skin, I had high hopes for this one as it was pricier and came in a smaller bottle compared to Cosrx’s. Benton’s Snail Bee High Content Essence came in a gel like texture that is light and easily glides onto my skin. I use 1 pump every routine and it’s able to cover across my face.
I was surprised how gentle and unsticky it felt with no scent at all (always a +point for me!), however it did not play much of a role in hydrating efforts. It was not drying but wouldn’t recommend it if you were thinking of getting this essence for hydration purposes. To be fair, the essence was fully focused on the skin repairing traits instead of hydration so this was not a biggie as my routine consisted of serums and ampoules to back it up.
In terms of effectiveness, compared to my Cosrx Advanced 96 Snail Mucin Power Essence experience, Cosrx worked well at the beginning but saw results slowing down over time. Benton’s on the other hand, has been working well consistently since I started using it shyly over 2 weeks ago. I definitely saw the scars that resulted from maskne (mask acne) lighten and reduced quicker than usual.
Before (left) vs After (right)
Notice my skin has lesser red scars compared to before, with the chin ones turning lighter after 2 weeks.
Truth be told, I’ve actually been slacking from my daily mid-day facial cleanse but Benton’s Snail Bee High Content Essence has been helping my skin maintain its complexion despite that. A strong sign that made me realize it really was working was when my boyfriend noted that my complexion has gotten better. For a guy to notice the small details like that, it definitely meant something!
Would I repurchase this? Yes! Especially for desperate times when the skin doesn’t behave and gives me all sorts of acne. No full score because it was on the slightly pricier side for me and it lacked the hydration effects it promises.
