REVIEW | Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

If I was asked what would I take with me if I am super late to an appointment? It would be a concealer. Concealer has been my best friend whenever I am in rush. There are days where I don’t feel like using foundation but I know that my dark circles would be my most concern because people might mistake me for a panda.

So, I was searching for the right concealer which is lightweight but with good coverage. I’ve always on the look out for light products because we are living in this humid country which sometimes would be troublesome to us if we ever wore product that heavy to our skin. As I am standing at a beauty counter to search for the right concealer, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer with so many shades caught my eye. I quickly Googled about it and most reviews about the concealer matched my preference. Hence, I am giving a try and this would be my review.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

I was standing in front of Maybelline’s counter for about 10 minutes just to decide which shade should I choose. Why I am standing there for about 10 minutes? There are 9 shades to choose which is really hard to decide! Almost 4 shades that could match up my skin but I decided to narrow it down to two shades which are; #10 Light and #40 Caramel.

I love products that have been tested with dermatologist and ophthalmologist which at least we can trust that all of their ingredients are safe to use. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer has been tested with dermatologist and ophthalmologist which the ingredients contained are safe to be use especially for the skin and under eye. Since this product is specifically to be use for under eye, they are taking safety measures that it is safe to be use at the eye area.

For a concealer, containing SPF 18 is kinda good. Not all of concealers containing sun protection in their formulation. But they are containing butylparaben. But actually, I don’t find it as a problem. Some are phobia when they heard paraben because it is known to cause skin cancer. But, I’ve heard before from a dermatologist saying that paraben is actually okay unless you are allergic towards it. It depends on you, if you are sensitive and your skin seems unable to tolerate with paraben, you might need to skip this.

PACKAGING

It has slim rectangular shape; almost tall like a mascara size. Compared to their other concealer, this would be the tallest concealer but the slimmest among them. Despite their slim size, their applicator also would be slim and tall which I don’t know whether to consider it good or not. At first, I feel uncomfortable because it is too long, but somehow after few times testing it out, I started to get comfortable with it.

As it claims on the website, you only need to dot it using their tip of the concealer brush, but I preferred it to be spread it into triangle shape. It is easy to blend with fingers or sponge. It didn’t leave any crease even when I didn’t top it up with any powder. Another reason to treasure this concealer is that it does not contain any fragrance!

SWATCHES

Here I am swatching #10 Light and #40 Caramel. #10 Light is a shade for fair skin. But due to my yellowish undertone skin, it seems a bit light on my skin tone. Hence, I paired it with #40 Caramel for shading since it has darker shade and easy to blend.

RATE

As someone who wore concealers daily and especially when we really want a minimal look, I think Maybelline Fit Me Concealer did a pretty good job. I could rate it 7.5/10. It has a good coverage but completely true to their claim of high coverage is a no. For me, it couldn’t cover acne or tattoo. Probably could cover some dark eye circles. If you have a flawless clear skin, this would be a good concealer for you to wear it through out the day.

I always replace foundation with concealer because I couldn’t bare the weight of wearing foundation in humid air. So, when I gave this a try, I like how it is lightweight and although it transfer, but it wouldn’t be that much as how I used foundation.
