I first got to know about this brand Collistar from Hermo. Their products are made in Italy and was known since 2003 for creating perfumes (source: Sasa). They now have shampoos, bath and body products, deodorants, and skincare. As a mother, I am so excited that I get to try their Talasso Shower Cream & Anticellulite Cryo Gel.
Collistar Talasso Shower Cream
Aqua, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Cocamide Mea, Sodium Chloride, Parfum, Citric Acid, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Aleurites Moluccana Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Algae Extract, Polyglucuronic Acid, Maris Sal, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Bht, Glycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Dmdm Hydantoin, Potassium Sorbate, Amyl Cinnamal, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool
Star ingredients of this shower cream are sweet almond oil (comes as second ingredient) and shea butter. Sweet almond oil as according to incidecoder is “loaded with skin-nourishing fatty acids (oleic acid – 55-86% and linoleic acid 7-35%) and contains several other skin goodies such as antioxidant vitamin E and vitamin B versions. It’s a nice, basic oil that is often used due to its great smoothing, softening and moisturizing properties”. Shea butter is also nothing short of goodness, as it leaves the skin incredibly silky and transforms the shower into a beneficial beauty and wellness treatment for the body.
Cleansing agents (surfactants) that are used in this shower cream are Sodium Trideceth Sulfate (which is also used in Cetaphil Baby Moisturizing Wash), Sodium Lauroamphoacetate (also used in Aveeno Baby Daily Care Baby Gentle Wash), and Cocamide MEA (also used in Cetaphil Baby Moisturizing Wash). I love that these are all gentle and mild surfactants that are used in baby wash (more on this below). This shower cream is free from paraben, sulfate, alcohol, and silicone if any of these is your concern. However, to achieve the pleasant smell this contains perfuming ingredients such as Parfum, Amyl Cinnamal, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, and Linalool. My 2 years old boy and I seem to be fine with all these fragrances but you might want to consider if your skin can’t tolerate any of these.
Texture and Smell
As the name suggests, this shower cream is indeed really creamy. It is like a moisturiser that foams!
As you can see in the video, it clots a bit during the first touch so you need to rub it to get it to lather up. That’s how moisturising it is.
It smells nice and wonderful and a bit like floral and diffused essential oils.
It feels smooth, super creamy, and doesn’t strip off skin moisture at all. As I wash it off, it rinses off completely without leaving any uncomfortable filmy residue unlike some moisturising shower gels.
This shower cream really makes my shower better and uplifts my mood which is great especially in the morning. It is so gentle that I even use it on my two-year-old son in the morning. It cleanses off dirt well while still providing moisture to the skin.
As a mother, I sanitise things both outside and in my house such the handle of the grocery store trolley, door knobs and handles, tables, and many more. I also use hand sanitiser a lot so it results in dryness of my cuticles and fingertips. So what I do with this shower cream is decant one-third of it into another pump tube container to be used as hand wash by the sink. My hands are a lot better now and in just three weeks I used up the shower cream lol as my son I also use it in the shower.
All in all, this shower is really gentle to the skin and I love that it can be used by the whole family.
My rate: definitely 5/5

I bet you’ve seen the ingredients list and saw alcohol denat as second ingredient and got a bit scared that it can be quite drying? Well don’t worry because it’s not drying at all to me. Besides, glycerin comes fourth in the list so it keeps the skin moisturised. This also contains centella asiatica which is a super famous soothing ingredient. Curious how this works as an anticellulite gel? Here is the explanation on Hermo:
Collistar Research offers the synergy of aromatherapy and cryocosmetics (from the Greek kryos, meaning ‘cold’) to fight the problem of cellulite. This revolutionary gel combines the aromatherapeutic effects of pure essential oils with the effectiveness of a highly advanced formula intensified by cold, which stimulates the microcirculation and, consequently, the activity of the active anticellulite principles contained in the product. In addition to fighting the ‘orange peel’ appearance it guarantees an immediate lifting effect, thanks to the exfoliating action of a mix of plant alpha-hydroxy acids, which tone up the skin and make it smooth and velvety. Extremely pleasant and ultra-penetrating, it is applied in moments and absorbed instantly, ‘lifting’ the surface of the skin with an immediate tensor effect. * cosmetic against the imperfections caused by cellulite.
- It combats cellulite with an instant, powerful lifting effect. It stimulates the microcirculation to combat cellulite.
- Blend of alpha-hydroxy acids instantly lift the skin and reduce imperfections caused by cellulite;
- Centella asiatica counteracts the loss of elasticity and grants a progressive lifting action;
- Pink pepper and caffeine act on three different levels on the fat deposits;
- Plant extracts of pineapple, horse chestnut, and blueberry are vasoprotective; combined with flavonoid-rich fermented green coffee extract inhibits the fluid retention.
Texture and Smell
It’s super duper cooling, seriously no kidding! It smells refreshingly minty. The cooling sensation lasts for about 10 minutes, with a ‘stinging’ sensation felt in the 3rd minute onwards. The ‘stinging’ sensation is not painful at all though, don’t worry. It’s like the feeling of the ‘fat’ being burned. If you’ve tried your mother’s Losyen Mustajab Pati Halia Extra Hot, I think you’ll be familiar with the ‘burning’ feeling.
Well this cream is like the Losyen Mustajab Pati Halia Extra Hot but without the uncomfortable heating sensation (this is in fact cooling, how cool is that?) and strong smell.
It’s so moisturising too. If you rub it in until it’s dry, the cooling sensation won’t really be felt so I would suggest you to just apply and let the gel becomes a ‘film’ on the surface of the skin so you’d feel the optimum cooling sensation that lasts long.
My flabby arms and thighs love this cryo gel. I use this to massage those areas and also my tummy before I go to sleep, sometimes I put it on before wearing my tummy binder (bengkung) for maximum effect. It feels so relaxing and I hope it’ll burn my cellulite. I can’t really tell the if my thighs or arms or tummy are getting smaller as I have only used this for about 25 days. Besides, I also eat a lot too so yeah. This Covid-19 pandemic really triggers my stress-eating T_T
What I like most about this cream is that it is a great massage companion. I use this to massage my tummy whenever I feel bloated and also to massage my husband’s back. The super smooth texture makes massaging a lot easier. My husband also gives me a feet massage with this cream and it feels wonderfully relaxing. My skin also feels smooth and soft to the touch. This anticellulite cryo gel is a family favourite and as a housewife this really helps uplift my mood and helps my body relax and the immediate lifting cold effect is truly felt.
