“Believe in the power of lipstick!”
Makeup trends change through out the era. There are eras that lipstick is the most hit item. Then followed by era which lip gloss is the main item in their makeup stash. And now, we are in the era where liquid lipstick is the most hit item where you can see it everywhere locally or internationally. The makeup industry was first hit by the liquid lipstick wave around 2017. Various options came from different brands, you only need to choose the one that matched your desire.
To catch up with the trends, Maybelline launched their Color Sensational Liquid Matte with 9 shades to choose. I’ve read up some opinion regarding this liquid matte before I make my own thoughts on it. Some would say that it is really nice to put on the lips but there will some with opposite thoughts. Hence, I am ready to test this out on myself whether it is worth it to get or pass.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
It actually comes in 10 shades with majority of them having red undertones. However, there are only 9 shades available in Hermo. It has a very lightweight texture but in a creamy form. When I gave this a try, I could see that it didn’t leave any wrinkles lines on my lips. It may not seem that soft, but at least it won’t make my fine line on the lips look obvious. Although, it took some time to dry where I felt a little bit sticky at first, but it will dry perfectly and long lasting on the lips.
It claims to be very pigmented and give an instant matte feel, hence you don’t need a lot of time to apply this on your lips. It has tocopheryl acetate infused in the liquid lipstick and for your information, tocophyerl acetate is Vitamin E that work as anti oxidant. It will protect your lips from the UV rays and make your lips healthier even when you are wearing a lip product.
PACKAGING
When I first saw this, it has a plain looking packaging. At first glance, I thought it resembled Ofra Liquid Lipstick. Tall with a black cap and the body are representing the shades. They were actually wrapped with a plastic that were labelled with many information of the liquid lipstick as such ingredients, shade, producer and distributor with a bar code. I can say that it is very helpful especially for those who are really concerned about it.
Although it may seems plain and way too simple, but it is full with information that every user need. I have always have concerns on a packaging as such as Maybelline Color Sensational Liquid Matte because they are not packed in a box, instead were only sealed with plastic sealer. Hence, the guide that labelled on it, makes me easy to make a reference.
SWATCHES
Here I am swatching two of my favorite colors from the shades available. On my upper side it is #02 Soft Wine and my lower side is #10 Bday Suit On. #02 Soft Wine really catches my attention because of their deep red wine color matched with my fair skin tone. While #10 Bday Suit On is more to nude pink shade which I can say depends on situation whether its gonna match your skin tone or not.
Both really suits my skin tone especially for fairer skin tone but I wouldn’t claim that the shades are not suitable for medium to dark skin tone. Probably medium to dark skin tone can give the darker shades a try. I purposely try on these two shades because you not only are able to apply it for fuller lips, but you can also pair these two shades and create an ombre or Korean tint.

RATE
I was already a huge fan of Maybelline and this would be another great product from their range. I could give 8 out of 10. I love their longevity and transfer proof. Although I feel like it has creamy texture which has a potential to transfer, but it didn’t.
When I had a meal, I don’t need to reapply it many times. I really like their formulation. They really work on their formulation because this is the best among of their liquid lipsticks. You might also be shocked to know that this good liquid lipstick is very affordable. Find out how much below!
