REVIEW | Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask #Oatmeal

Ever since my first experience with Innisfree Real Squeeze Mask Tea Tree, the happy masking experience made me so intrigued and excited to try another mask from this brand. The fact that the quality is great and it comes at such a reasonable price keeps me coming back for more. This time I bought the Oatmeal variant. Even though this one and the tea tree one are both the Real Squeeze ones, they are different in the sense that this Oatmeal is in the Rich Cream Type while the Tea Tree is one of the Fresh Water Types. For your information, this Real Squeeze line is divided to three types. The first type is the Fresh Water Type (#Bamboo for Skin Thirst Quenching, #Broccoli for Skin Clarifying, #Green Tea for Water Soothing, #Lime for Transparency and Brightening, #Rose for Smoothening and Radiance, and #Tea Tree for Clean Skin).

The second type is the Rich Cream Type which are available in six variants: #Acai Berry for Nourishing and Firming, #Coconut for Skin Comforting, #Ginseng for Skin Soothing, #Oatmeal for Skin Comforting, #Rice for Flawless Skin, and #Shea Butter for Nourishing and Moisturising.

The last type is the Moisturizing Essence Type that consists of #Aloe for Water Soothing, #Cucumber for Water Charging, #Fig for Clarifying and Suppleness, #Manuka Honey for Nourishing and Moisturizing, #Pomegranate for Smoothening and Shining, and #Tomato for Revitalizing and Moisturizing.

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dimethicone, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Carbomer, Glyceryl Caprylate, Tromethamine, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Fragrance

I like that oatmeal extract is the seventh ingredient in the list so we know it really is the main ingredient. However, among the top ingredients there is also dimethicone so for those people who cannot tolerate dimethicone this is something to consider. As for me, I used to have an issue with certain dimethicone (I would get tiny bumps or breakout) but for me it really depends on the formulation itself because not all dimethicone in skincare gave me bad reaction.

Moving on, other notable ingredients in this sheet mask are centella asiatica extract (soothing), citrus unshiu peel extract (brightening), sodium hyaluronate (a type of hyaluronic acid – hydrating ingredient), aloe leaf juice, and green tea extract, cactus, camellia leaves and orchid. Wow these all sound so amazing right? This sheet mask is also free from alcohol but it contains fragrance so if your skin can’t tolerate fragrance, this is something to consider.

Sheet: 4.7/5

The cellulose sheet mask is thin but not as thin as hydrogel or bio-cellulose one. The fabric is derived naturally from eucalyptus tree.

It is convenient to unfold and place onto the face even though it doesn’t come with a separator. You can see through it and it is breathable so wearing it for 15 minutes feels comfortable. It is not irritating and it does not make skin itchy.

There is still some remaining essence in the sheet as I took it off, this goes to show that this fabric is quite great at holding up essence.

𝗙𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (4/5)

As compared to the tea tree variant, this sheet mask fits a lot better! As someone with a big chubby face I have grown to make peace with the fact that most Asian sheet masks are quite small for my size and even to this day, there is hardly any mask that can cover my whole “airport” forehead but this one covers most of it! I’m such a happy user.

 𝗔𝗱𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 5/5

This sheet mask adheres nicely and doesn’t slide down easily. The eucalyptus cellulose fabric has a great adherence that helps skin get the optimum ingredient absorption. I don’t need to lie down and worry about it slipping off as it sticks on nicely while I do my laundry or washing the dishes or tending to my son. Adherence plays a big role whether I enjoy a sheet mask or not and I am so glad this one doesn’t let me down at all.

𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (4/5)

As compared to the tea tree variant that is the Fresh Water type, this oatmeal one is one of the Rich Cream ones so there is slightly more essence in the pack for this one.

As I take it out, there is a bit of a leftover essence in which I poured onto my hands and pat it in after I took off the sheet mask. It is not drippy when I put the sheet on the face, which is so convenient.

The essence feels a bit tacky on my hands and has a soft smell but that is not the smell of oat. It is not heavy but not too lightweight either. There is a slight tacky residue left upon taking it off.

Overall Experience (4.8/5)

I like this a little bit more than the tea tree one. Other than the fact that the sheet is way bigger an fits better, this also moisturizes my skin and the moisture is long lasting, it also soothes the redness I have on my cheeks. Ever since I made an order of this sheet mask I have been planning to use this as a post-exfoliation care because after a clay mask session that draws out the gunks and sebum in my skin, I love to finish off with a hydrating toner and a moisturising sheet mask and moisturizer so yeah, this fits perfectly in the post-exfoliation squad. I also think that people with dry or flaky patch on the skin would really love this Oatmeal sheet mask. I love that this provide moisture without clogging my pores or causing any breakouts unlike some clammy moisturising sheet masks especially the ones designed for dry skin or for winter use. I have no problem using this mask on a hot day as it does not make me itchy or sweaty but bear in mind that my review is exclusive to my skin, okay? The feel and effect would not be similar for everyone because as we know it, there is no one size fits all in skincare products. Overall, a satisfied user I am.

My rating: 4.8/5

Would I repurchase? Yes! I love that the price is super affordable and the quality is great.
