Undoubtedly one of Neogen’s most well-known products, the Real Fresh Green Tea Cleansing Stick has always been a product I’ve been curious to try since stepping foot into the K-Beauty scene. Even more so due to how convenient it seems with its 2-in-1 cleansing claims! But with a notable list of essential oils in the formulation, how does it fare for my often-irritated skin?
NEOGEN is developed with modern biotechnology skin care science, dedicated to maximize benefits for skin through latest biotechnologies, based upon fundamental knowledge of skin and Neo-nature.
Neogen Dermalogy Real Fresh Green Tea Cleansing Stick is formulated with naturally derived ingredients and real green tea leaves to deep clean clogged pores. While effectively cleansing, the green tea seed oil simultaneously supplies the skin with moisture to deliver a clean and moisturized cleansing experience without over-drying the skin.
This gentle formula performs both make-up removal and cleansing, conveniently simplifying double cleansing into one easy step! Perfect for daily use.

Translucent twist-up tube packaging with a soothing green theme. Cap is quite secure, which makes the overall product very travel friendly. You can also see how much product is left on the back due to the tube’s translucency, which is great to track usage.
PERIOD AFTER OPENING (PAO):
HOW TO USE:
- After opening the cap, twist the bottom of the container to the right until the cleansing stick comes up and is clearly visible.
- On wet skin, apply the cleansing stick directly on the skin using soft circular motions to help massage the skin as it dissolves the make-up.
- After the make-up is thoroughly dissolved, use lukewarm water to rinse all the remaining product until completely washed off.
*Please repeat the above process as necessary if you are in need of deeper cleansing.
Moderately strong herbal scent with a noticeable powdery-perfume fragrance added in. This is probably due to the various essential oils and added fragrance present in the formulation. I’m quite scentsitive (ha) but I’m quite used to it by now as it’s not too cloying for my tastes.
Using at-home four panelled pH strips, estimated to be around pH 5-6.
Smooth, creamy solid bar with flecks of green tea leaves mixed here and there. At first, the bar was a flat surface but as you can see, with usage overtime, it’s a little curved now.
Once mixed with water, the cleansing stick lathers up to produce fine, airy bubbles which wash off cleanly without leaving the skin feeling dry or tight.
MY SKIN TYPE:
Sensitive (prone to redness and irritation), combination-dry, acne-prone and dehydrated.
OVERALL THOUGHTS & EXPERIENCE:
If you’re looking for a convenient 2-in-1 cleanser, this is a great option to consider! It works well at removing light makeup and sunscreen without stripping the skin, and also provides a gentle exfoliation with the dried green tea leaves.
However, I would advise against using this cleansing stick on your eyes (yes, please remove eye makeup with a separate eye makeup remover beforehand!) as it does sting the eyes. A lot. So please do be careful!
Otherwise, the Neogen Dermalogy Real Fresh Green Tea Cleansing Stick is a great travel-friendly product. And although it does contain essential oils, which my skin can be sensitive to depending on the formulation, I’ve found that it did not cause any sensitivity or irritation issues for me*. I do hope Neogen would consider making an essential oil free option of this cleansing stick, though!
*As always, YMMV – Your Mileage May Vary, ie. what works for me may not work for you, and vice versa.
