Healthy lips have a rosy or pinkish hue. The skin on our lips is incredibly thin and has only three to six layers of cells, whereas the rest of the body has 16 layers. Because of this, we are able to see the capillaries or blood vessels beneath, which display red and pink tones. Of course, the lighter the skin the more pronounced the color.

Anyhow, it is easy to achieve plump & healthy looking lips. It just require 2 simple steps; exfoliate & hydrate.
I used to DIY my lip scrub using sugar and honey; the famous lip scrub DIY recipe. But, I am quite lazy to mix those up and it’s a bit messy. That time, I had been hoping that there will be a lip scrubs in a stick like a lip balm.
I’m blessed that I found this in 2020. Nivea had come out with a stick lip scrub and also act as a lipbalm!

There are 2 variations to this lip scrub: Aloe Vera (green) and Rosehip Oil (pink). I purchased the rosehip because it is pink.
PACKAGING
This stick lip scrub has a typical cap-on packaging. The cap has a grainy texture to allow people to differentiate between lip scrub and lip balm. No complaints on the packaging.
TEXTURE
I expected to see grainy texture to it but not at all. The stick is sleek and smooth just like a lip balm. When applied, I can’t feel the scrubbing mechanism on my lips. It just like applying a lip balm.
The description said to rub off the first layer of the product. I rubbed at back of my hand. After few seconds, fine grainy exfoliants start to appear.
This lip scrub doesn’t leave a pink tint to lips although it is pink in color.

PERFORMANCE
Very handy lip scrub when you are super lazy to exfoliate your lips. No wonder this is called as 2 in 1 lip scrub. This product is able to rub off dead skin while moisturizing your lips. Love the idea of using natural ingredients instead of typical sugar and salt that tend to be too messy and harsh.
After exfoliating, the beads disappear when you rub your lips together leaving super moisturized lips.
But after few usage, the top layer of the lip scrub doesn’t have the grainy texture anymore. When this happens, you just need to rub off the top layer on the back of your hand again.
This lip scrub doesnt’ leave pink tint to my lips although it have a pale pinkish color. Does it work? It does get rid of flaky lips but some effort is needed to achieve lustrous lips like above.
FINAL VERDICT
I would grab this lip scrub with me when travel. Love the idea of stick lip scrub because it is very convenient and easy to use. It does give my lips a gentle exfoliation and makes them plump and alive.
