I remember that time lip plumper products are slowly getting into the market when lots of famous cosmetics brands came out with matte lipsticks like mushrooms after rain. I’m not sure if lip plumper is still a thing now since lots of people prefers lip fillers instead but since I’m not into those. It does have a mild weird scent that I’m not sure how to describe but I think it came from the spices in the ingredients.
Recommended for
Easily dry, chappy lips or dull lips that in need of hydration to achieve plump and full-looking lips
How to Use
- Twist off the tip of a heart-shaped lip plumping capsule
- Squeeze some amount of serum onto a fingertip
- Apply the serum to the lips like a lip gloss
- My skin type
Dehydrated-combination, oilier on nose and cheek area. Prone to redness and mild acne.
Thoughts
I bought the one that has 7 capsules. It comes in a ziplock packaging style so it is easy to store the remaining capsules without leaving them open and can avoid hygienic problems. These capsules reminds me of those Ellips hair serums capsule! Basically they have the same mechanism, twist and squeeze 
I only need a small amount for my lips and this definitely can have up to 3-4 more uses IMO. The lip plumper has a similar texture to sticky clear lip gloss, easy to spread on the lips using your finger or use a disposable applicator if you don’t want them on your fingers. It gives slightly tingles that last for a few minutes, quite hydrating and I don’t find them uncomfortable. The only thing that bothers me that I can somehow ‘smell/taste’ the scent in my mouth 
Unless you have a pretty sensitive nose like me, you probably won’t even notice it because some said they didn’t notice any scent at all 
As you can see, for the first few minutes, my lips look slightly red because of the tingling effect but TBH I don’t see much different in term of plumping. It does help soften and smoothen my dry chapped lips but I think I’d get the best result if I exfoliate my lips after it helps soften the peeled skin for a smoother lips. Overall I think it’s pretty nice and the hydrating and moisturizing effect lasted for a while too 👍
I had a light layer of Laneige BB Whitening Cushion in 21N and some blushes from Sleek Makeup in Life’s Peach to brighten my look. To complete this very simple look I put on my fav lipstick from Maybelline’s The Powder Mattes by Color Sensational Lipsticks in #Toasted Brown. It is a beautiful warm brownish nude color lipstick, with intense color payoff with semi-matte finish. I like how it looks peachy brown on my lips and it’s my current go-to lipstick to match the autumn vibe in Japan 🍂
Kocostar’s lip plumper definitely helped prep my easily chapped lips for the matte lipstick to stay on longer without drying my lips out in a short time. Anyone can feel me with this struggle? Having chapped lips but absolute-love matte lipstick? Same gurl 
So that’s it! My first experience with lip plumper. I’m not into the scent but I’m pretty satisfied with how moisturizing it feels and it mimics the finish of a glossy lip gloss on it own. I would recommend it if you have a dull pale lips and want to bring some color without using any colored lip product, do give this a try
