REVIEW | Benefit Cosmetics California Kissin Colorbalm Lip Balm

Whenever this girlie pinkie brand make a comeback with a new product, I’m always excited to know what are they going to release. Benefit Cosmetics really caught every girls heart whenever their new arrivals reach the counter. If they made every makeup junkie went crazy for their brow products, this time they surprised us with a new lip product joining in the sisterhood.

Benefit Cosmetics California Kissin’ Colorbalm Lip Balm is the new product to join the sisterhood with twelve tempting colors which is really in trend. I might not be able to grab all twelve colours, well because in this pandemic our lips are hardly seen. But I managed to grab four of them which are their hottest colours. I was so into it when it first released their advertisement. I love their concept, the packaging and what interested me the most was their ingredients. So, let’s get to know more about this hottie from Benefit Cosmetics.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

When it says that they are releasing twelve in-trend colours which are wearable for all skin tones, they mean it! So the shades available in four base groups which are reds, pinks, corals and berries tone. Ruby, Cherry and Pomegranate has red based while Nude-Pink, Pink Rose and Fuchsia are classify in pink based. Coral, Peach Pink and Poppy are corals based and berries based are Berry, Spiced Red and Wine. So I got myself Spiced Red, Nude-Pink, Coral and Wine to test out.

Benefit Cosmetics California Kissin’ Colorbalm Lip Balm has a promising formula that will keep your lips hydrated and moisturized for up to eight hours. And indeed proven with 98% who said lips feel instantly softer and 97% said it provided vivid color. This evaluation was from 101 women after a week of testing out this product. And 100% said lips does feel nourished which is very favorable for these women. But this evaluation will never satisfy me until I try it by myself and having my own perspective thoughts.

PACKAGING

I love how it gives you some retro vibes with the packaging. The box itself caught my attention with the illustration of a girl with the shade represented on the box. Usually, I would throw away all the boxes but it would be a waste if I throw this box. It has a very cute illustration that instantly makes you want to keep it. Sometimes, it is hard to read on description of a product on the box, hence, the font size were enlarge and it is so clear and easy to read.

Say goodbye to losing any lipstick cap because it has slip-proof cap that covers the whole tube. The cap has semi-rubbery texture with flower look which makes it feels like vintage. Like I said, it is so cute and it gives you that retro vintage vibe. Benefit Cosmetics California Kissin’ Colorbalm Lip Balm has a slanted tip which will make application much easier. It doesn’t have any fancy shape but instead it has a wide circular shape so if you have fuller lips, this would be a bonus for you.

SWATCHES

Here I am swatching 11 Spiced Red, 55 Nude-Pink, 88 Coral and 222 Wine. It has a thick texture and although it says it will glides smoothly, I think it didn’t really work on my lips. I could feel that it stuck a bit on the lips. But, it does feel light without feeling heavy nor sticky if I layered it few times.

RATING

This would be a good to go if you are looking for a tinted lip balm. It will not disappoint you but also you may not put too much expectation on it. It contains wild mango butter which really helps to moisturize your lips, the passion fruit scent also is quite strong. It wouldn’t be a problem for me but as someone who is super addicted to scent, I would say their scent is very pleasant yet still strong. So if you are aiming for something that is moisturising with a pleasant scent, this would be nice to get.

In this pandemic, I have spent the months having virtual meetings. So, to complete my super easy makeup look for the meetings, Benefit Cosmetics California Kissin’ Colorbalm Lip Balm would be my good to go. I could still look fresh with just applying color lip balm. Hence, I am giving nine out of ten for this girl!
