I love any products that claim to brighten the skin. Having acne prone skin, it often leads to dark spots even when I don’t pop the pimples. So I am weak when it comes to buying brightening products.

I recently tried one that is raved by my skincare friends – Marine Therapy Dark Spot Correcting Serum from the brand Always Be Pure.

I really love this type of packaging for a serum. It comes in a light purple, see- through bottle with a pump dispenser. Hygiene and convenient are guaranteed

Texture / Finish:

This gel type serum is colourless, odourless and has a slight viscosity. It is a bit slippery but very lightweight. It feels hydrating on my skin and leaves a fresh finish.

My Experiences:

I am intrigued when I first saw the product’s description. It contains 10% Caulerpa Lentillifera extract which is also known as Sea Grape or the Sabahan calls it Latok. It tastes so good with Sambal Belacan. Yummy! Now back to my review.

This serum contains 4.9% Niacinamide which is good to help diminish dark spots and oil control on the skin. One of the reasons I love it! Niacinamide is especially good for people with oily skin.

Despite its gel-like consistency, it absorbs quickly into my skin, with no tackiness or film residue. I can instantly feel my skin is so much smoother and plumper. It gives great hydration to my skin and leaving a radiant, glowy look.

I have oily skin, acne prone due to hormone. Everytime a pimple comes to visit, it often leaves a dark Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH), even when I don’t pop it.

After only 1 week of usage, I noticed major PIH improvement, the dark spots used to be dark brown – black pigmented. They are gradually fading to greyish brown, I am amazed!

The above result is only after 2 weeks of usage. ❤️ I’ll definitely keep on using it with hope that it can help to lighten the PIH.

Another significant result is, I noticed my skin tone seems a bit brighter. I rarely use day cream these days but it is quite obvious my skin is fairer and my colleagues also noticed it.

I didn’t experience any adverse reactions (itchiness, redness, irritations) while using this product. All of the comments are based on my experiences and only my own. However, you may experience different reactions because our skin varies individually. YMMV.
