I had a happy experience with both Celimax The Real Noni Energy Ampoule Mask and The Real Cica Calming Ampoule Mask hence I am so intrigued and excited to try their other variants. So I decided to snag the only variant I haven’t yet tried, which is the The Real Sedum Aqua Balancing Ampule Mask.
By the way have you heard of sedum? Do you know what sedum is?
Sedum is a perennial plant with thick, succulent leaves, fleshy stems, and clusters of star-shaped flowers. (almanac.com)
Sedum Sarmentosum Extract fills skin with moisture and relieves inflammatory skin conditions, which makes it a perfect choice if your skin is feeling dry. When the skin’s moisture level is too low, its moisture barrier is severely damaged and is less likely to accept serum or cream. This sedum sheet mask helps to restore the moisture barrier of the skin and boost skincare routines.
The Real Sedum Aqua Balancing Ampoule Mask is a premium sheet mask soaked with botanical sedum extract that provides deep hydration & moisturization.
Sedum which contains more hydration than the watermelon, rich in vitamins & minerals, instantly boosts the level of hydration and fortifies the moisture barrier to promote skin elasticity and moisture balance.
Advantages:
- 50% of Botanical Sedum Extract provides deep hydration & fortifies moisture barrier.
- 5-Complex Hyaluronic Acid effectively restores the skin barrier by locking moisture.
- Panthenol helps to heal the damaged skin layer & adds a protective barrier to the skin.
- The specially designed skin-fit sheet enhances the absorption of the sedum extract.
Ingredients
Sedum Sarmentosum Extract(50.96%), Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Panthenol, Allantoin, Betaine, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Hyaluronic Acid, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Xanthan Gum, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Arginine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Rose Flower Oil
I love how minimal the ingredients list is and how sedum extract is the first in the list. Other than sedum extract, this sheet mask is loaded with other moisturising ingredients such as glycerin, propanediol, sodium hyaluronate, hydrolysed hyaluronic acid, and hyaluronic acid. That’s intensive hydration, if you ask me, as there are 5 different sizes of hyaluronic acids to work on multiple levels of skin layer.
Sheet: 4.5/5
The Real Noni Energy Ampoule Mask uses sheet made of spandex while The Real Cica Calming Ampoule Mask uses sheet that is made of hydrogel. This Real Sedum Aqua Balancing Ampule Mask on the other hand, feels like the thickest of these three. The sheet is made of modified cotton to increase moisture content as well as improve the delivery of ingredients to skin.
It feels comfortable but not as soft as the other two sheet materials. However, this one is the easiest to unfold.
Fitting: 4.7/5
The fitting is quite great, fits my whole big face except for my big forehead where there is still small space that it not covered. Eyes, nose, and mouth cuttings are wonderful and do not require any more adjustments.
Adherence: 4.2/5
To be honest the adherence is not so bad but I can’t help but to be slightly disappointed when I compare this one to the other two variants I have tried. The Real Noni one hugs my skin snugly while the The Real Cica one sticks like a second skin so yeah… It’s not that this Sedum one slides down or anything but it just doesn’t adhere as wonderful as the other two do.
Overall Experience: 4/5
The essence is just enough, when I took it out from the packet there was no leftover essence.
It is not drippy too when I put it on my skin. The technicalities such as fitting and adherence do not really impress me as much as the other two Celimx Sheet Mask variants did but this one is not that bad.
Now to the most important part, the effects on the skin. This feels really moisturising and hydrating all along the 15 minutes I had it on. I love sheet masking during midday so I incorporated this into my midday routine that went like this: Micellar water – cleanser – toner – Celimax The Real Sedum Aqua Balancing Ampule Mask – Moisturising Sunscreen (which is the Keep Cool one). I skipped moisturiser because this mask is super moisturising and hydrating enough for me. Besides, the sunscreen that I was using is also very moisturising.
This makes my skin supple and all but after an hour or two, I noticed my T-zone area (forehead and nose) getting super greasy. I had to constantly blot my face in that area until PM routine.
This mask is formulated for dry skin so as someone with an oily/combination skin, I understand why my T-zone got greasy.
My rating: 4/5 but I think people with dry skin would really find this 5/5, technicalities aside. If your skin is dehydrated or flaky or feeling tight, I believe that this would really be your saviour.
Would I repurchase: Most probably not
